Jesus said, “A man’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.” As Christ-followers, our lives consist of laying hold of the One who is Life and bearing witness of this unshakeable truth as we share life with our families, friends, co-workers, employees, peers, neighbors—our community.
In 1 Timothy 5:8, we are instructed to provide for our families and at the same time, to look to our inheritance in heaven.
From our foundation, Business Men’s Fellowship has been all about “eternal life,” obeying the Great Commission as it relates, in particular, to men in the marketplace. Since 1995, we have been out in our business communities sharing our testimonies, contemporary demonstrations of the gospel—the Good News that Jesus is working in the lives of men today just as He did over 2000 years ago.
We are driven by this mandate: to be witnesses of Jesus Christ to men who work and do business, to confront them at least one time with the claims of Jesus, so that they can never say, “but no one ever told me.”
The Holy Spirit has given us a short-term goal to plant BMF meetings in the business communities of the top 50 population centers, and eventually in every town and city in our nation. It’s a big goal, much bigger than ourselves, but we are not deterred because something much greater is at stake—the eternities of men.
God has given us a simple plan to work within a man’s mid-week lunch hour: Meet for breakfast or lunch, have one man led by the Holy Spirit give his testimony, talk about our need for a Savior, and pray with them for salvation and personal and business needs. Our goal is to lead men to Christ, man-to-man, in a casual setting and help them meet other Christian men with whom they can build trusting, supportive, and lasting friendships.
One man transformed by Christ will impact his family, his friends, his workplace, and eventually his business community. Imagine America’s families and businesses operating in Godly virtues, standards, morals, and ethics!
It’s a huge vision, but “with God all things are possible.”
This is your opportunity to assume a key role with BMF as a “partner for life” as you launch your legacy to your family and God’s Kingdom.
